About the Founder - Bio
Toney L. Valen is a creative visionary and lifestyle architect rooted in refinement, reflection, and intentional evolution. As the founder of Valen Knights & Company, he builds more than products—he builds platforms for expression, distinction, and connection.
Raised in Ridgeway, South Carolina, Toney learned early what it meant to feel different. Rather than conform, he turned inward—discovering solace in art, writing, and design. By his teenage years, fashion had become more than admiration; it was a language. Sketching garments and studying construction allowed him to translate emotion into form, structure into story.
In the mid-2000s, after submitting fashion school applications and receiving acceptances, a pivotal conversation with an admissions advisor revealed his natural inclination toward menswear. His detailed sketches—focused on construction, stitching, and precision—pointed toward structure, simplicity, and intentional design. That moment shaped his creative direction and deepened his appreciation for disciplined craftsmanship.
Years later, while building a successful career as a licensed optician in the state of Georgia, Toney refined another essential skill: vision. Precision, detail, clarity, and service became part of his daily practice. Those principles now quietly inform his design philosophy—luxury that is disciplined, thoughtful, and purposeful.
What began as a fashion line concept evolved into something greater. Toney recognized that clothing alone felt too narrow for the vision he carried. Valen Knights & Company emerged as a lifestyle house—one that merges aspirational luxury with simplicity in design. Clean silhouettes. Masculine-leaning structure. Eye-catching signature elements. Quality at the core.
Yet his work extends beyond garments.
